2013 Fashion Crush

Introducing: MindMyAnn
''Degradation.
As everyone knows, our planet is becoming more polluted and more populated than ever before. So I decided to surround this year's portfolio around this exact topic. To adhere to this sombre issue, only black and white shades were used.''

This is one of my closest friend - MindMyAnn's portfolio. With such amazing designs, it's no wonder she got accepted into such amazing design schools! Go check her out guys, she is absolutely talented.

What to wear on New Year's Eve in Australia

So you plan to spend New Year’s Eve with your beau, but then plan on partying the night away. What to do? Oh the dilemma!

It’s simple, choose a stand out top, think sequins that are bold and attention grabbing. Pair the look together with a maxi skirt, for a sophisticated cocktail look. Here I have opted for a monochromatic tone, as it helps to elongate your body and create the illusion of length.

(Sneak peek of a small portion of my wardrobe)

Party the night away by swapping your maxi skirt for adorable lace bottoms. Easily to manoeuvre in, and perfect for a house party!

Get ready for a fresh year, a fresh start and a new beginning. Happy New Year readers!

In love with: Mary Katrantzou

One of the most anticipated shows this year was Mary Katrantzou, and rightfully so. The bold textures, prints and structures of her designs adds a whole new dimension to the industry.

The ridiculous contrast between pinks and paradise make you wonder - where does this creativity comes from? It is gobsmackingly inspirational and makes me crazy with excitement.

Some of my favourites of all time include:

Mary Katrantzou

Printed silk pencil skirt (don't bother, it's completely sold out)

Mary Katrantzou

Even her umbrellas (a special collaboration beteween Harbour City and and creative studio AllRightsReserved) is so vibrant and fun, it makes you wish that everyday was raining!

How to wear: Velvet

Velvet in spring is probably as rare as beach bodies built from chocolate cravings. But, it''s possible to look fresh in velvet this Spring, despite the melting hot days of Sydney Springtime!

Think velvet accents, here I've gone for velvet pumps and an adorable floppy hat (it's important to keep protected this Summer, so slap on the sunscreen and hats!). Keep the look together with a breezy collared singlet and high-waisted shorts.

Try to match accessories with your core colours, here I've gone for neutrals with pearl elements.

Every time I wear this outfit, I always put on Earthquake by Freedom Fry. Love it, or hate it?

BELLY FAT

Everyone has those days, the ones where you think your stomach resembles that of the hindside of a pig, rather than the flat 'fitspo' one you've been training all year for. Well, to those days I say: screw you. Wear what you want, what you like, and if you're going to hang and show like you're 9 months pregnant, then so be it. Love your body girls!

Now, less ranting and onto the outfit:
Love the Urban Outfitters Vaudeville & Burlesque Cross Front Dress? For a great spring shout, I've added a lot of bold colours, like red, aqua and yellow with a navy blue Peter Pan coat (it's perfect for every weather). However, I kept heels a neutral colour, so more attention could be drawn to the outfit.

Loving the peter-pan inspired coat?

P.S. I MADE THIS: LACE SKIRT

Spring into Action
So a while ago, I blogged about the millions of projects I would attempt, I guess I did spring to action, and finish it, just in time for the season change. This is a simple lace skirt, match it with a silk feminine top for a beautiful tea-party look.

Keep accessories feminine, think diamond or pearl tones, and keep heels sophisticated, for example wedges or simple darker heeled sandals.

CRUSHING ON: WHITE GOWNS

White gowns are a timeless classic, however, most people steer away from them faster than mouldy leftovers. However, the key is how you wear it. To avoid looking like a curtain of white, or a runaway bride go for shorter white dresses, like this quaint and sweet Lover Dress Miranda Kerr pulls off so cutely.

Want to make a statement?
Try matching an elegant white gown, with statement pieces, here Kelly Ripa has chosen a Carolina Herrera with bold horizontal stripes

Lost for ideas?
Edge away from classic looks, by combining a bit of sex-appeal to your outfit. Rock your world with a whole new dimension, this Alexander McQueen dress is far from your traditional altar gown. It's a party of feathers, beading and lace. Not for the faint hearted

Starting the trend
Serena Williams, aka Blake Lively really got the wheel turning in this Oscar De La Renta gown, for the white party in Gossip Girl. Not even going to pretend how absolutely stunning, and how much I adore this.

If you haven't got the white idea, try something softer like a soft pink gown. Reverting back to the ever-so-gorgeous Miranda Kerr again, in Eva Brazzi this time. Softer shades are less daring, however they are just as elegant.

COLOUR BLOCK

Colour yourself this season in bright, bold colours. It's all about statement. The term 'colour block' quite literally means 'blocks of colour', so think bright, solid tones.

The perfect thing about this trend is that it's perfect for every season, weather, occassion - it'll makes quite the splash

Moustache ask you whether or not you like the ring?

Mirin dem calves brah?
